What Investors Are Watching Ahead of Earnings

Thomas Martin, senior portfolio manager at Globalt Investments said on Tuesday “Everybody is watching anything that gives you insight into the artificial intelligence narrative”.

He added by saying that investors are focused on the companies’ capital spending and anything related to the monetization of AI.

The reaction of the markets will be determined by how much these companies are spending, both on the capex line and the opex line.

Concerns about stretched valuations continue to surround stocks in the AI space so far in 2026, which is putting pressure on the broader market.

Martin believes that despite these concerns, investor appetite for AI stocks will continue, at least over the next couple of years.

AI isn’t going away. In fact, it’s getting stronger with every month that passes. New discoveries are only going to push valuations higher.
